The day was ideal for this festive meeting around chestnuts organized by the Couleurs du Caroux association. “We had wonderful weather and many tourists came. We worked well, it’s a success”, declares Bernard Bouillot, president of the association.
The organization was perfect. Nicole, treasurer, was at the reception. Germain grilled sausages non-stop, Cathy, the secretary, managed the tickets near Laurence when baking the pizzas. From the strategic location of the communal oven, Laurence measured the number of visitors: “We welcomed many visitors, locals and hikers attracted by the beauty of Caroux. All gathered around the monumental stone table, dominated by the famous bronze mouflon, emblematic of the place. All tasted the chestnuts. well cooked by Marco and specialties: chestnut flour tart, “Flammendouch” and chestnut tiramisu. Everything was cooked over a wood fire and accompanied by mulled wine. The Couleurs du Caroux association, very satisfied with the attendance, will organize the event again in 2022.
