A Laker close to making a comeback?

This is only the start of the season and yet the Lakers’ infirmary is already full. However, Frank Vogel has just received good news: ideal before the confrontation against the Rockets.

In trouble at the start of the season, the Lakers are finally starting to wake up. With a great victory against the Cavaliers, the players have found their smile again, like the behavior of Russell Westbrook and LeBron James in the middle of a game. But to confirm all this, we must continue, like this Sunday evening, with an opposition against the Rockets.

The Texas franchise is struggling, although this is hardly surprising. This is a rebuilding team, which is betting its future on Kevin Porter Jr, but also Jalen Green. Either way, it’s a perfect match for the Angelinos to start a winning streak.

The Lakers’ infirmary begins to empty

However, all is not over for Frank Vogel’s men. It must be said that for a few weeks, the infirmary has been well filled in Los Angeles, with notably Talen Horton-Tucker and Trevor Ariza. But the medical staff have just indicated good news, with a player expected to return very soon.

To the media, Vogel explained that Wayne Ellington was close to returning, ahead of the game against Cleveland:

We would like him to do some practice before releasing him in a match. I don’t know what will happen against the Cavs, but we won’t use it.

Ellington, capable of punishing at three points, has had some hamstring problems in recent weeks. His return is a good thing, and will give Vogel an extra man in his rotation. Given the start of the season, everything is good for the manager to take, especially with Russell Westbrook in the vicinity.

For the leader to be effective, shooters are needed. Last year Ellington was still 42% in shooting behind the arc, which is pretty good. However, not everyone is a perfect fit for the Big 3, as is these 2 players who will undoubtedly stay on the bench often.

Wayne Ellington will be back soon, it is above all a sign that the Lakers’ infirmary is emptying. Good news for the fans, who now hope to celebrate a victory this Sunday night against Houston. Anything else will be a huge disappointment.
