2: 2 in Ried! Bulls give late victory

Late drama in Ried! After a long 0: 1 deficit, the Salzburg team took on and turned the game before the Innviertel team equalized 2: 2 in stoppage time.

In a crazy game, SV Ried wrested a 2: 2 (1: 0) from the Bundesliga leaders Salzburg on Saturday. Ried took the lead early on through a Luca Meisl header (9th). Salzburg struggled for 70 minutes, missed a penalty through Rasmus Kristensen and only scored in the final phase through Junior Adamu (83.) and Noah Okafor (85.). But in stoppage time (93rd) Leo Mikic took care of the valiantly fighting Rieder for the not undeserved compensation.

Salzburg remained without defeat in the 19th game in a row. Ried, on the other hand, could not win the seventh league game in a row, but after the 2-1 victory in the cup during the week at Sturm Graz, he can look forward to the next sense of achievement.

After the cup success, the Rieder started the game with new self-confidence. Julian Wießmeier already had the first big chance in the 2nd minute, but did not bring Felix Seiwald’s cross sharply and placed enough on the Salzburg housing. Seven minutes later, however, the Rieder were allowed to cheer. Luca Meisl screwed up after a corner from Stefan Nutz and headed a massive 1-0. After it had looked like a dream parade by Philipp Köhn, referee Julian Weinberger decided a few seconds late that the ball was behind the line.

The high favorite from Salzburg, however, found it difficult to be dangerous for the Rieder Tor. The hosts were very good defensively and played their physical superiority against the Salzburg strikers in the duels. Only after 25 minutes did the leaders of the table begin to push. Brenden Aaronson spits the ball past the goal at the best chance after a great through ball from Ulm. From then on, Ried was only rarely able to free himself through relief attacks, but was compact enough to bring the lead into the break.

After the change, the picture was similar to that at the end of the second half. Salzburg made the game, Ried defended with man and mouse. Karim Adeyemi, Aaronson and Luka Susic’s chances have not yet brought a goal for the league leaders. Ried’s goalkeeper Sahin-Radlinger then gave the Salzburgers a great chance to equalize by bringing down Junior Adamu in an aerial duel. But Rasmus Kristensen, who took the place of the already substituted Adeyemi, failed from the penalty spot on the Rieder goalie.

In the final phase it was turbulent. First, Junior Adamu broke the dam and hit after a presentation by Aaronson in minute 83 to 1: 1. Two minutes later, the substitute Noah Okafor even increased to 2: 1. But the game had one more thing to add. The Rieder, in the second half until then without a chance to score, scored in the third minute of stoppage time through Mikic to the acclaimed 2-2.
