Antonia Figueroa, current Miss Universe Chile, is a native of Coquimbo and an environmental civil engineer, she also excels at the violin and practices boxing, taekwondo and judo; he also has a great passion for gastronomy.
The new queen of the most important scepter in the country, says that she was never in academies, but that her interest in modeling began in the Miss World 2016 and Miss Earth 2018 contest, where she obtained fourth and third place respectively, also had an outstanding participation in Master Chef.
Regarding the beauty pageant that will be held in December in Israel, the current Miss Universe Chile highlights that “it is the best known and most relevant pageant and for me it is one of the greatest achievements, since they are instances that do not occur never, to be able to get on stage, wear a nice dress and deliver a message “
Antonia points out that one of the things that she is most passionate about about modeling is that it helps her increase her self-esteem and security, since it is not only about modeling, but also about expressing a speech, stating that “you have to take advantage of the lights and the visibility to be able to say something important ”.
Likewise, she details that she feels confident and enthusiastic, since she has a professional team in charge of preparing her to give a first-rate show, among them, director, runway runner and interview preparer, adding that “I trust that we will give a very good impression in the international competition, maintaining my essence, being true to myself and my naturalness ”.
Volunteering
The young Coquimbana, in addition to possessing beauty and intelligence, is part of “Volunteers for childhood”, an organization that is responsible for enhancing skills in children and adolescents in Sename residences in the Coquimbo region and in this way to develop their creativity and giving them moments of relaxation and fun, “I hope I can reach a lot of people and that people know that this foundation exists and supports us,” adds Miss Universe Chile.
In this sense, he comments that the organization was formed in early 2021, which has a team of 20 people who are dedicated to doing boxing, cooking and violin workshops, where the latter workshop is taught by Miss Chile, since since At 5 years old, he practiced the art of the violin. “I am the godmother of a girl in a residence in the Sename who plays violin, we connected well because of that and I started to teach her,” he says.
Currently, the “Volunteers for Children” team is raising funds to be able to extend aid to other Sename centers, which is why they are holding a raffle, in which different prizes will be raffled: equipment, gloves and boxing classes, kitchen implements, makeup workshops, catwalk classes, teeth whitening, a paragliding flight and a gamer chair, among other things. “The prizes are very good, but we have not sold all the tickets, we want to raise 2 and a half million, so that it allows us to function this year that follows. Love for Coquimbo
The 26-year-old girl has lived in Coquimbo since she was 9 years old and affirms that she has great affection for the port city, “I love the beaches, the tranquility that it transmits, having the Elqui Valley nearby or other beautiful points such as Punta de Choros, Totoralillo and also the agricultural part is very interesting, I cannot imagine living in another region, I love Coquimbo, it is one of the best cities to live ”.
Finally, she comments that she would like to work in the future in modeling and environmental engineering, therefore, she does not close herself to any opportunity, “I like the media area, but my career is also one of the things that I like the most. ”Concludes Miss Universe Chile.
