San Salvador. The Salvadoran Badminton Federation (Fesalbad) confirmed that our country will host, for the first time, the games of this sporting discipline.

The approval of the request made by Fesalbad to organize the continental event that gives the most points in the individual mode, was made by the authorities of the Pan American Badminton Confederation.

René Madrid, Technical Director of Fesabad, said that they expect an enrollment of approximately 100 athletes and the participation of powerful countries in this discipline such as Canada, the United States, Brazil, Guatemala, Cuba and Peru.

“As a federation it is something historic that the Pan American Confederation trusted us. The management made by the board of directors had the support of INDES to request this event. We had to meet many requirements and specifications, that is why it is very important for us as a technical direction that our athletes see and experience these international tournaments up close ”, reiterated Madrid.

The coach affirmed that, being a high-level competition, it will give the federation a great opportunity to train its best athletes for the new Olympic Cycle.

“Taking into account that we will host the Central American and Caribbean Games, we will seek to train our athletes in the best possible way,” said the federation.

The event, which does not yet have a specific date for its organization, according to Madrid, is expected to take place between April and May 2022.
