WHO IS FURKAN KORKMAZ?
Furkan Korkmaz was born on July 24, 1997 in Istanbul, Bakırköy. He is 24 years old. Korkmaz, who started basketball in the school team, later played in the basketball club Başkent 34.
Then he started playing in Yeşilyurt Sports Club. In 2012, at the age of 15, he transferred to Anadolu Efes for $250,000.
Korkmaz won the Turkish Stars League Championship with Anadolu Efes youth team in the 2012-13 season. In the 2013-14 season, Anadolu Efes’s pilot team, competing in the Turkish Basketball 2nd League, won the Young Men’s League championship with Pertevniyal. In the same season, he played in 22 matches with Pertevniyal in the Turkish Basketball 2nd League and played with an average of 4.4 points.
On July 4, 2017, he signed a contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, one of the NBA teams. During his rookie season, he was sent to the Delaware 87ers of the NBA G League multiple times.
