We don’t want to see you for ten years. Hockey Nitra is furious, Vienna is said to have “hunted” their players

Hockey Nitra prematurely ended the preparatory match with the Vienna Capitals. Due to the opponent’s allegedly too rough play.

“We will not take part in a deliberate hunt for our youngest players. As long as hockey was played, there was nothing to deal with.

What was it about? According to the home team, the preparatory duel, which was played in Nitra, turned into a hunt for the players of the Slovak team during the match. The referees punished the tough game of the Austrians and Nitra scored in overtime, but indiscriminate interventions continued to multiply.

The situation escalated at the end of the second period, at 5: 1 for Nitra. First, the home team Filip Bajtek and the guest Lukas Piff fought in a fist fight. Even after their exclusion, however, the game did not calm down. Just a few seconds after the start, another sharp intervention came on the home hockey player, after which almost all the players on the ice joined the mass fight.

“The interventions presented by the opponent’s players were far beyond the edge of common sense. It had nothing to do with hockey. It didn’t make sense to let our players who wanted to play hockey continue the match,” Nitra explained why she decided in the match. not to continue.

Opponents from Austria, who took the match as a general in the Austrian league starting on Friday, of course did not see the whole thing so clearly and blamed the referees for the match rather than their players.

“We decided that we will play the last match before the start of the league hard, but of course fair. Unfortunately, the referees did not have their day, so it was hot on the ice,” coach Dave Barr told the Capitals official website.
