  • The Hereda San Pablo Burgos player, Dani Díez, has appeared in the previous match against Urbas Fuenlabrada

Dani Díez, one of the incorporations of Hereda San Pablo Burgos for the new season, has spoken to the media in the preview of the match in which Žan Tabak’s men will face Urbas Fuenlabrada again within this preseason. The people of Burgos will visit the people of Fuenlabrada this Tuesday, from 7:30 p.m., at the Fernando Martín Pavilion.

The forward has assured that they face this new duel “with great enthusiasm”, and explained: “We players like to play much more than train. The more games we play and the more we get to know each other, the better ”. Looking ahead to tomorrow’s commitment, Díez has highlighted: “Hopefully we can improve things that we did wrong in the first games and maintain others that we did well.”

The Castilians have started their fourth week of preseason on Monday, a period of time in which “we are accumulating many hours of training and a lot of work”, which will have to be reflected in the next friendlies. “We have to adapt to what the coach wants and try to get to know each other to get that team chemistry we need,” said the Hereda San Pablo Burgos player.

The Burgos team will try to regain sensations after a bad match against Bilbao Basket, a shock that the squad faced with a certain load of fatigue that could be felt on the track, said the forward, who has also acknowledged that it is not an excuse for the result. “There were many free shots that we did not make,” recalled Dani Díez about a game that they have analyzed on video to correct errors. “You have to improve a lot of things, both in defense and in attack. It is normal at this stage of the preseason and we are working hard to be able to play better ”, he highlighted.

As for the squad formed to play the 2021/22 season, in which Dani Díez is one of the new faces, the player has stated: “On paper, I think the squad is very well compensated. Important pieces from these last years have been kept, very important people for the club ”, who are joining the summer incorporations during these weeks. The work to transform this group of players into a team will involve “understanding everything the coach wants from us to translate it into positive results as soon as possible.”

Diez knows that the goal of staying at the highest level in the two competitions that will be played this year will be difficult, but he has assured that they will fight for it. “Matching the last two years is going to be very difficult, but I, in particular, have come up with the challenge of trying to do my best and help the team in whatever the coach asks of me,” he stressed.

To arrive prepared for the new Endesa League and Basketball Champions League course, Hereda San Pablo Burgos will have to face yet four more appointments within the preseason. The first of them will take him to face Urbas Fuenlabrada again, the rival he won in the first duel played at the Coliseum last week, and who tomorrow will host the friendly that will start this Tuesday, at 7:30 p.m. , in the Fernando Martín Pavilion.
