Vinales slumped with Aprilia motorcycles, this is the problem he experienced

Jakarta

Arprilia Racing Team Gresini rider, Maverick Vinales, did not perform well in the free practice sessions and the Aragon MotoGP qualification. Vinales admitted experiencing problems with the braking system.

Vinales slumped to 19th position from two free practice sessions held at the Motoland Circuit, Aragon, Spain. The rider who had just moved from Yamaha lost impressively to his partner, Aleix Espargaro, who became the second fastest rider in the second free practice session. In the qualifying session, Vinales also had to settle for 19th starting position with a time of 1 minute 47.764 seconds.

Responding to his performance, Vinales admitted that he is trying to adapt to the Aprilia RS GP, which in character is very different from the in-line 4-cylinder engine that he has ridden for years with Suzuki and Yamaha.

“Today (Friday) I only thought about adapting to the bike. I didn’t follow a special program. I (only) used the basic setup like in Misano, and this is not the time to make changes. But I’m happy because between the first and second rounds we made leap forward, not only in time but also the feeling for the bike,” said Vinales quoted from Tuttomotoriweb.

The racer nicknamed Top Gun admitted that he was still experiencing problems in terms of braking.

“Braking was the most complicated moment, very different from what I’m used to so far. I braked faster than necessary, but we are getting closer. Acceleration, on the other hand, is very good. There are many aspects to change and there are many work to do. The dashboard has many buttons, but it is easy to memorize them. For me, the most difficult thing is to unite the four sectors, “continued the Spaniard.

“We have to do things patiently, step by step. Now the key is to stay calm and keep working, doing lots of laps, knowing that we will improve further. Tomorrow (Saturday) we will take a step forward, I’m sure of that.” the father of one child.
