Johanna Schumann from the judo department of TSV Tauberbischofsheim continues to fight in the 1st women’s judo league for the reigning German champion, the Budo Club Karlsruhe. For the first time, the 18-year-old Mara Noorlander also starts for the Badische team from the TSV judo department.

The most successful TSV athlete to date, Johanna Schumann, competed in the Bundesliga for the first time in 2001 with a second start for KSV Esslingen and fought successfully in this team until 2005. Due to the higher demands of her studies in Darmstadt, she actually didn’t want to expose herself to the rigors of the 1st Bundesliga. The offer of the judo friends Pforzheim as Baden team to fight in the 2nd Bundesliga in 2006 had a certain appeal to try the promotion again. Of course, the good personal contacts between the TSV judo department and the JF Pforzheim also played a major role here.

The first offer came in 2008

In 2008, the TSVlerin got an offer for the Budo-Club Karlsruhe to start in the women’s Bundesliga, as she had already fought successfully for the BCK in the youth team. Last year the TSV fighter became German champion for the first time with the BCK, a milestone in her competitive career. The TSV Danträgerin can look back on 20 years of Bundesliga time.

Mara Noorlander is now the second TSV fighter who made the leap at a young age to get an offer in the women’s first division. The BCK attracted attention due to its excellent successes in the past two years. Even before the corona pandemic, she made the leap in the U18 and U21 age groups to the German individual championships.

In the current sporting year 2021 it is now again “Hajime” for the TSV fighter in the 1st women’s judo league. On six days of fighting from September to November, you have to prevail against, among others, JC 66 Bottrop, JT Hannover, HTG Bad Homburg, JC 71 Düsseldorf, TSG Backnang, JSV Speyer.

Of course, the Tauberbischofsheim judoka will not let their TSV fighters down and will support the Baden team from Karlsruhe as a fan club.
