Tennis player Martina Trevisan has reached the final of the Liqui Moly Open in Rüppurr. The Italian prevailed on Saturday in the semifinals against the Belgian Maryna Zanevska 6: 3, 4: 6, 6: 4.
It is not yet clear who Trevisan will be up against on Sunday at the WTA tournament in the 125cc category. The second semifinal between the Egyptian Mayar Sherif and Jaqueline Cristian from Romania was canceled at the score of 7: 6, 4: 6 and 2: 2 due to darkness.
Sherif may face a three-pack on Sunday, which she has already reached the final in the doubles competition. At 11.30 a.m. she first finishes her match against Cristian. If she leaves the field as the winner, the final against Trevisan will follow at 1 p.m.
Maryna Zanevska forces third set

Trevisan had previously taken two hours and 36 minutes to bring Zanevska to his knees. After a 3-0 lead, the Italian brought set one home after 42 minutes and in the second round she was ahead with a break at 4: 3. But then Zanevska struck back, won three games in a row and equalized by sets.
Trevisan bites his way through despite being tired
In the decisive round, the decision was made with a score of 4: 3 for Zanevska, when she missed two breakballs and then surrendered her service game to zero. “It was very tough today. She is a very aggressive player. At one point in the match I was so tired, but I kept fighting for every point, ”said Trevisan afterwards.
