Tomorrow is not promised to anyone; children and wife to be loved today. Shici as a father

Responsibility, discipline, team spirit – these are qualities that are so necessary in sports, but not only – exactly the same things are useful in raising children. The sleigh riders – brothers Juris and Andris Šici – are the winners of three Olympic medals and also fathers, husbands to their wives and sons to their parents. Every year on the second Sunday of September, Latvia celebrates Father’s Day, and on the eve of it, the portal “Cālis” invited the brothers Šicus, the well-known tandem in the sports audience, to a conversation. And it’s not bad at all when it comes to tandem, because in fact, since childhood, both have been best friends outside of sports.

Our conversation takes place on the “Zoom” platform – after the brothers’ daily training in Sigulda. Both are in a good mood and during the conversation they smile a lot, joke, complement each other. Juris and Andris reveal how they got to know their wives, what emotions they experienced while waiting and expecting their firstborns, how important family ties are in their lives, how to consciously and unconsciously pamper their children, how their son sucks, going to try sledding, although dads tried to tempt children with more summery sports …

Here is a small business card for both families: Juris (38) and his wife Aneti have two children – Adam (9) and Aaron (1,7); Andrew and his wife Annie also have two offspring – Adrian (10) and Alice (4)!

Classic and more modern dating version

To become a father once, of course, you need to find the other person you want to start a family with. Each of the brothers has his own story of how they met their spouse. True, the brothers married in one year – 2011, but each on their own date, and could not say that it was planned.
