Thomas Detry finishes 4th in the Dutch Open, Thomas Pieters is 9th

Thomas Detry finished in 4th place in the Dutch Golf Open (European Tour / 1 million euros), where Thomas Pieters grabbed the 9th place Sunday on the Bernardus golf course in Cromvoirt.

Detry was in 6th place on the eve of the final round, and his 70-move card in that one brought his total score to 273 moves, 15 below par. The 28-year-old Brussels resident has therefore climbed another 2 places.

Pieters meanwhile managed a lap in 67 strokes, with 6 birdies and 1 bogey on the last hole, allowing him to gain 12 places and enter the top 10. His score of 275 strokes, 13 below par, is 10 shots above that of the Swede Kristoffer Broberg. The latter knew how to keep the German Matthias Schmid from a distance with 72 shots on the last day, and a total of 3 shots lower than that of his competitor.

This is the 35-year-old Swede’s second victory on the European Tour after the 2015 BMW Masters. Broberg earlier in the competition set a course record of 61 strokes en route to his final victory.

In the Race to Dubai, the classification of the European Tour, Detry climbs to 21st place, while Pieters is 64th.
