This is how the 18-year-old US Open winner ticks privately

Emma Raducanu won her first Grand Slam title at the age of just 18. Despite this historic success, the British woman also shows facets of a normal teenager on Instagram.

“The fairy tale is complete,” was the headline of “The Sun” on the morning after the US Open women’s final. In a historic final, 18-year-old Londoner Emma Raducanu beat Canadian Leylah Fernandez 6: 4, 6: 3, who was only two months older. Raducanu was crowned the first British winner of a Grand Slam tennis tournament in 44 years, the first qualifier to win one of the four major competitions since the beginning of the Open Era, and incidentally stayed without losing a set during her entire outstanding assault run.

After the success in New York, Raducanu should only have eyes for the US Open trophy for the time being. Further titles are to follow soon. In return, the 18-year-old high school student has thrown her plans to study law upside down, as an unspecified friend “The Sun” explained.

Is Raducanu now making a fortune as an advertising face?

“A year ago she realized that her sports career is picking up speed much faster than she ever suspected,” the anonymous source is quoted as saying. As soon as Raducanu worked out which universities she wanted to apply to, she put the plans aside again, the report goes on to say.

Instead, PR and marketing expert Jonathan Shalit suspects that Raducanu will make a fortune with advertising deals in the years to come. The Briton is already sponsored by sports outfitter Nike and racket manufacturer Wilson, her agent Max Eisenbud from tennis management giant IMG is likely to land further deals for her shortly. For comparison, former tennis player Maria Sharapova, who won the Wimbledon tournament at the age of 17, earned an estimated £ 230 million during her playing career thanks to her partnership with Eisenbud.

Behind all these superlatives, however, the 1.75-meter-tall daughter of a Chinese woman and a Romanian is also a completely normal teenager who likes to present himself and his life on social networks such as Instagram. In addition to a lot of tennis content, your already 1.2 million followers can always look forward to private insights.

Raducanu doesn’t just grab a tennis racket

In this way Raducanu proves that she can not only handle racquet. Stand-up paddling, fishing, golf, motocross – the new darling of the tennis world is always trying out new sports and loves to be active.

However, Raducanu’s heart does not belong entirely to sport. On Instagram she poses with a pug puppy in her mother’s Chinese homeland, writes “My four-legged friend” under the picture. The hashtag #anotherone suggests that little Simba is not the first dog to enchant the top tennis talent.

How the teen celebrated his success is not known. On Instagram, however, there is a reference to the professional athlete’s culinary preferences: in an old photo, she is sitting as a toddler in front of a giant Black Forest cherry type cake, her upper lip covered with thick whipped cream.

One can only hope that, despite all the attention and media interest, Raducanu does not lose her sympathetic, down-to-earth manner – and treats himself to one or the other piece of Black Forest cherry.
