The WTA Finals move to Guadalajara this year

Celebrate Mexico. Through a statement on its official page, The WTA announced that the 2021 WTA Finals will be held, from November 8, in Guadalajara, on hard surfaces, bringing together the best players on the world circuit.

The US Open ended, very surprising among women, with the victory of the British Emma Raducanu, 18, over the Canadian Leylah Fernández, 19, in the first Grand Slam final of both. And the race to finish in the top eight of the year continues with the aim of qualifying for the Women’s Masters.

The Australian Ashleigh Barty, current World No. 1 and current Wimbledon champion, is the great figure on the international circuit and will surely say present in Guadalajara.

Once it was known that the Chinese tour was canceled due to the Covid pandemic, the WTA managers looked for a suitable location for the contest that will bring together the best in singles and doubles, to put an end to this season.

It should be remembered that the competition belongs to Shenzhen, but in 2021 there will be a substitute for the Chinese city. Guadalajara, with 1,566 meters above sea level, will host the WTA Finals, a tournament that will return to the Chinese city next year.
