The Raptors will return to Toronto this season

After completing the 2020-21 season playing home games at the Amalie Arena in Tampa due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Raptors will return to Toronto to face the 2021-22 season.

A spokesperson for the franchise has confirmed to The Canadian Press that the Raptors have received government clearance to play at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto this season. In fact, in the preseason calendar there are games scheduled to be played in the Canadian fiefdom.

This measure was expected thanks to the wide availability of vaccines in both the United States and Canada, as well as the flexibility of border restrictions that had been applied since the beginning of the health crisis.

It is not yet clear how many fans will be able to attend Raptors games during the first weeks of the competition. However, the spokesperson shared that the organization is optimistic about holding events at full capacity at the Scotiabank Arena. The same spokesperson clarified that anyone who enters the venue, whether as a spectator, press or staffYou must present your vaccination certificate or proof of medical exemption.

The Raptors’ first home game of the 2021-22 season will be played on October 20, with the Washington Wizards as rival. This will be the Canadians’ first home match at the Scotiabank Arena in nearly twenty months.
