Winners of the Olympic Games despite a sluggish start to the campaign, the Americans ended up winning gold. But for Damian Lillard, not too used to winning, it took a big punchline from a teammate. Come on, it’s fair game!
Damian Lillard has a lot of individual accolades on his CV… but significantly fewer collective ones. After a decade in the NBA, the point guard is still looking for his first NBA Finals, and he’s starting to get impatient. Fortunately, and despite a rather poor tournament in a personal capacity, Dame Dolla was able to console herself this summer by pocketing a gold medal with Team USA.
The problem with rarely winning is that you don’t always know how to celebrate! Lillard therefore had to resort to the help of the expert Draymond Green, triple NBA champion, to slash the champagne in the locker room. A scene as comical as it is funny:
You know the guy: after the fact, the Warriors pitbull could not resist releasing a small punchline on the tone of the joke. Lillard says:
He said to me: “This is what it looks like when you win a title!” »I didn’t win any of them and he has 3, I don’t have much experience in throwing champagne so the field had to help me a little!
Remember that Lillard and Green are very good friends off the field, and that’s why the Warrior allowed himself this joke. Moreover, the two men are so close that their complicity has given rise to rumors of trade between Portland and Golden State so that one joins the other. All of this obviously came to naught, and everyone is focused on their team for the coming season.
We understand, however, that the lack of collective success begins to tire Dame Dolla, he who has so far not been rewarded for his loyalty. After several months of reflection, the Oakland native finally chose to continue in Oregon… until further notice. Suffice to say that the pressure is on the Blazers to make a good start to the year by the deadline.
Not comfortable celebrating with champagne, Damian Lillard at least had the right to a private lesson from a specialist. Let’s hope for him that it is a rehearsal before finally winning the NBA Grail one day …
