The Indonesian National Team is getting tougher, India insists on joining the AFF Cup

The Indonesian National Team is getting tougher, India is determined to take part in the Prestigious Football Tournament in Southeast Asia or the AFF Cup.

INDOSPORT.COM – The ambition of the Indonesian national team to win the AFF Cup title for the first time will be even more difficult following India who wants to participate in the tournament.

Reported from Times of India, The Indian Football Federation (AIFF) has submitted a proposal to the Southeast Asian Football Association (AFF) to be granted permission to participate in the AFF Cup.

AIFF Secretary General Kushal Das explained the reason why the Indian national team insisted on participating in a tournament that was not from their territory.

He admitted that he wanted to provide a challenge for the Indian national team, especially as ASEAN countries are inhabited by many strong teams such as Vietnam, Thailand and the Indonesian national team.

“The goal is for our national team to get the best pressure in the competition. The AFF response is very positive, but we are stuck in the coronavirus pandemic situation,” said Kushal Das.

“When the AFF accepts our request, then we will enter their competition seriously,” he added.

Meanwhile, if the AFF approves the proposal submitted by India, then the struggle for the Indonesian national team made by Shin Tae-yong will be even more difficult.

Since the first AFF Cup was held in 1996, the Indonesian national team has appeared five times to the final but has always suffered defeat.
