The CSD will organize the first Inclusive Games

As announced the CSD will present tomorrow the first Inclusive Games. This presentation will take place at the headquarters of the Higher Sports Council (CSD).

As is already known, on October 7, 2021, Madrid will host the first competition where Olympic and Paralympic athletes will compete under inclusive regulations.

The venue chosen to carry out this meeting has been the High Performance Center (CAR) of the Higher Sports Council.

The Sanitas Foundation Chair for Inclusive Sports Studies has been responsible for coordinating, together with the various national sports and disability federations, the regulations that will be applied in the different competitions. In addition, an adaptation of the facilities that require it will be carried out in order to offer maximum accessibility and safety to all participating athletes.

It is also already known which disciplines will enter the competition:

  • triathlon (format of a duathlon by teams made up of a triathlete with a disability and a triathlete without a disability),
  • badminton (an inclusive mixed doubles match),
  • judo (judokas without and with visual impairment),
  • taekwondo (similar al judo),
  • swimming (50% mixed team competition made up of eight athletes, half with disabilities and half without disabilities),
  • Athletics (shot put, long jump, 1,500 meters, 4 × 100 relays and 100 meters),
  • wheelchair basketball (each team with two players with disabilities and a third without disabilities),
  • rugby (mode to seven),
  • table tennis (Inclusive mixed doubles team competition).
