WASHINGTON (AP) – Juan Soto homered in support of Panamanian starter Paolo Espino and the Washington Nationals beat the Colorado Rockies 3-0 on Sunday, snapping a five-game winning streak on the road.
Soto sent the ball 454 feet in the third inning as Jon Gray (8-11) hit a pitch for his 26th home run of the season. Soto is hitting .362 with a 1.178 OPS since the All-Star break.
Colorado tied its longest winning streak this season. The Rockies went 7-2 in their first string of road wins this season and have a 25-52 overall on the road and 45-27 at Coors Field.
Espino (5-5) allowed three hits in five two-thirds innings, walked three and tied for his season-high seven strikeouts.
