Schwartzman will open the series between Argentina and Belarus – Tennis

Diego Schwartzman will face Daniil Ostapenkov this Saturday from 11 o’clock in the first point of the best-of-five series between Argentina and Belarus.

The crossover will be played at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club and is valid for the reclassification playoffs for World Group I.

According to the draw carried out today at the stadium facilities located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, “Peque” Schwartzman, located in 15th place in the ATP world rankings, will play the first point against Ostapenkov, 18, and with 63rd place in the junior ranks.

The second point of the series will be played next by Guido Pella from Bahia (82) against Belarusian Erik Arutiunian (42 in juniors).

The series between Argentines and Europeans will continue on Sunday from 11 a.m. with the doubles point between Horacio Zeballos from Mar del Plata, seventh in the world in the specialty, and Máximo González (25) from Tandile, against the best tennis players of the rival team, Alexander Zgirovsky (1233) and Martin Borisiouk (1408).

The fourth point of the series should be played by Schwartzman and Arutionian on Sunday following the doubles and the fifth by Pella against Ostapenkov, although the captains can alter the names up to two hours before each game.

That is likely to happen if the series is defined as presumed in doubles, and then, for the fourth point, Federico Coria (61) would make his debut, while the fifth point in that case could not be played directly.

Argentina will receive Belarus with the great news that there will be fans in the stadium, up to 70 percent of the total capacity that amounts to 4,000 spectators.
