There are tears that say more than pain. Some even go beyond a logical post-defeat disappointment, however heavy. Those of Rory McIlroy this Sunday of Ryder Cup 2021 were of this caliber. The scene was almost unreal at the time: moments after pocketing the first single against Xander Sc Chaudele (3 & 2), Rory McIlroy literally burst into tears in front of the camera before being able to say a word.
