‘RSC Anderlecht didn’t quite get what it wanted after negotiations about Kouamé’

RSC Anderlecht was looking for an attacker for a long time and found a new striker at the end of the transfer period with Christian Kouamé. The Ivorian will be borrowed from Fiorentina until the end of the season, although Anderlecht had other plans for the striker.

For example, Anderlecht was unable to negotiate a purchase option in the lease and – just like with Lukas Nmecha this summer – it will see Kouamé return to his club. Anderlecht would rather not have seen that happen. According to Sports/Football Magazine Peter Verbeke did everything he could to negotiate a purchase option, but he did not succeed in his intention.

Fiorentina only wanted to lend Kouamé without a purchase option. The Italian club still sees a future in the striker and only wanted to let him go if it was also certain of a return. In this way, it can optimally benefit from a possible breakthrough of Kouamé at Anderlecht.

Anderlecht will therefore see Kouamé leave again next summer, but will also have to say goodbye to Taylor Harwood-Bellis (Manchester City) and Joshua Zirkzee (Bayern Munich). Verbeke was also unable to negotiate a purchase option with that duo.
