This weekend in the Alto Valle, with the accompaniment of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, it will be defined who will be the young people who will wear the Rio Negro colors in two of the eight disciplines that will be played in the next Araucanía and Epade Games.
Provincial basketball already thinks about the Araucanía
In General Roca and Allen there will be concentrations for the male and female branches in pursuit of the assembly of the selected ones who will travel to Chubut to play the first National Games of Araucanía.
The men will have training sessions on Saturday from 3.30 to 7.30 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Club Unión Alem Progresista de Allen, while the ladies will do the same from 4 to 8 p.m. on the first day and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the second in the club Del Progreso de General Roca.
In the male branch, there will be 20 summoned from the sub-17 category who will work together with coach Sebastián Falcón, while in the female branch there will be 21 from the sub-19, concentrating with coach Florencia Gorriti. In both cases, those selected will be made up of 12 members.
Judo is measured in Cinco Saltos facing the Epade and Araucanía
In the Club Cinco Saltos, young judocas from all over the province will participate in the selective for the sub 16 and sub 19 categories, organized by the Rionegrina Federation of the discipline, with the accompaniment of the Sports Secretariat.
The evaluations will take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. and will award the ticket to the Games to 28 athletes: 14 will go to the Epade and 14 to the Araucanía, between both branches.
It should be noted that the first National Games of Araucanía (thus defined by the absence of Chilean delegations due to the pandemic) will take place from November 1 to 7 in five of the six provinces of Patagonia. Basketball will compete in Chubut and judo in Río Negro. Meanwhile, the Epade will take place from December 5 to 10 in La Pampa.
In this way, the province goes through the final stretch in the preparation of the teams that will wear the Rio Negro colors and that will try to repeat the achievements of 2019 where Río Negro won the title both in the Epade and in the Binational Games of Araucanía.
