The 2021 Serie B baseball championship is coming to an end. Sunday 19 September the red and white will be engaged at De Benedetti for what represents the last official engagement on the home diamond. Guest on the penultimate day of return will be the rear Legnano, already mathematically relegated to Serie C. Marenghi’s boys will surely want to resume the trend of positive results of the second round after suffering two defeats last Sunday at the hands of leaders Poviglio ; Legnano for its part, having nothing to lose, will play to have fun looking for satisfactions that would make the bite of the season’s epilogue less bitter. In the standings Piacenza has been in fifth position for some time and the distances are short only towards the two teams further ahead in the standings: Reggio has two games ahead while Codogno, third, three. The direct clash between the two best placed teams is scheduled for next Sunday. Piacenza, having his back safe as it can no longer be reached, can try to take advantage of the direct confrontation to hook up to the third place train. Nothing would change in the evaluation of the season but every position climbed in the standings has always been satisfaction. Analyzing the seasonal statistics of the red and white, one can guess the improvement in the numbers during the season: both those relating to the attack and those relating to the pitchers. The work of the technical staff to improve the running phase on the bases has paid off and the results are clearly visible to those who attend the matches.
