NFL: three-year contract extension for Josh Sweat

Defensive end Josh Sweat agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday.

The agreement extends until the end of the 2024 season.

Sweat is in the last year of his rookie contract.

Sweat had six sacks last year, finishing third in that regard.

The Eagles drafted him in the fourth round in 2018, 130th overall.

In their first game of the season, the Eagles corrected the Falcons 32-6 in Atlanta.

Philadelphia will host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. They started their season with a 41-33 victory at Ford Field.
