The Quebec tight end was cut off by the Texans, but could still stay with the organization within his reserve team (practice squad). Another team, however, could choose to make a place for him in their regular roster of 53 players. The teams must announce the 16 players who will start the season on their reserve team on Wednesday.

Auclair played his first four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He won the Super Bowl with the Buccaneers last February.

The 28-year-old Beauceron was hired as a free agent by the Bucs in 2017. Mainly known for his blocking skills, Auclair signed a contract with the Texans during the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.
