NBA and Toronto Raptors will return to play in Canada

After a season and a half without being able to play in the northern nation, the next preseason will reopen the doors to the best basketball in the world.

It was on Friday, February 28, 2020, when Canada last received a match from the National Basketball Association (NBA), when the then champion Toronto Raptors received in the Scotiabank Arena a Charlotte Hornets, which ended in a 96-99 loss.

As expected, the Coronavirus pandemic closed the borders in North America, and this country banned all kinds of eventual sports for about a year and a half; however, as they have vaccinated their population, with just over 25 million immunized, they have reopened their doors.

First, it was the Major League Baseball (MLB) with the box Toronto Blue Jays, and now it will be the turn of the Raptors, after the Government of Canada finally authorizes him to play his games at home, although as expected, those who will be able to do so will be the inoculated.

NBA and Raptors return to Canada

Although the information provided by the franchise does not confirm whether the team will be allowed to have a full attendance at the Scotiabank Arena, it is further confirmed that fans who go must show proof of vaccination.

The Raptors will play at home again on Monday, October 4, in their first preseason game against Philadelphia 76ers, then they will return to Toronto on Monday the 11th to receive Houston Rockets, prior to the opening day of the NBA, where they will face Washington Wizards.
