SportFEAT.COM – Petronas Yamaha SRT racer Valentino Rossi is starting to worry about Maverick Vinales’ performance with Aprilia.

Valentino Rossi had a tandem for four seasons in the Yamaha first team.

But the two had to part ways this season after Rossi moved to Petronas Yamaha SRT at the start of MotoGP 2021.

Not long after, Vinales followed his former colleague leaving the Yamaha first team.

The rider nicknamed Top Gun decided to join Aprilia.

Maverick Vinales has even made his factory debut with Noale at the 2021 Aragon MotoGP.

But unfortunately, Vinales’ debut moment with Aprilia was less than satisfactory.

The 26-year-old man had to settle for ending the 2021 Aragon MotoGP race in 18th place.

Even so, the debut of Maverick Vinales received praise from his former colleague Valentino Rossi.

The man born in Urbino assessed that Vinales’ performance on the RS-GP at the 2021 Aragon MotoGP was quite slick.

“I saw Maverick make great progress during the race,” said Rossi, reported by SportFeat from Tuttomotoriweb.

“He keeps a pretty good pace, in the end he’s not too far from the leaders. He can advance.”

However, Rossi said his former tandem had two problems that must be resolved immediately.

“I didn’t speak to him directly, but I felt he had problems with braking and cornering,” said Rossi.

Even so, Rossi does not deny that Vinales has the potential to perform even better in the next series, MotoGP San Marino 2021.

The Doctor has been wary of Maverick Vinales and promised to do his best to beat the Spanish rider.

“In this case, he is still a little difficult to adapt to Aprilia, but I think the bike has good potential,” he said.

“And Vinales is a top rider, so I think he will improve and be very fast in the next races.”

The 2021 San Marino MotoGP race itself is scheduled to take place on Sunday (19/9/2021) at the Misano Circuit.
