More athletes join the Cali Games

There are already 62 Salvadorans in the delegation that will attend the Junior Pan American Games

The bill has continued to rise, for El Salvador. Now, the national delegation that is classified for the I Pan American Junior Games in Cali, Colombia 2021, is already 62 athletes. Thus, under the sum of places per country, ESA will have a broad national performance in the event, which will take place from November 25 to December 5.

According to the official count of the El Salvador Olympic Committee (Coes), there are 23 male athletes and 39 female athletes. Of these, there are 18 sports that will be represented and in which the local preparation for the event continues.

The sports that would thus be with the largest number of athletes are basketball (3 × 3 modality) and swimming (racing, diving, artistic), both with eight athletes each; fencing (sword, saber and foil) are added, with six; They are followed by badminton, bowling, gymnastics (artistic), table tennis, and archery (recurve and compound), all with four each.

The rest, with a minority, is completed with skating, squash and sport shooting (pistol), all with three athletes; while with two, by discipline, there are athletics, wrestling, rowing and triathlon. With only one national, karate, weightlifting and tennis appear.

In addition, there are still chances that the country will get more tickets in the sports of boxing (52 kilograms) and cycling, to expand the account. The expectation, in this way, grows that several youth metals can be harvested for the country, since the objective of these Games is to give continuity to the high-performance quarries.
