Montreuil-Juigné. The judo-club hopes for a full season

Alain Méritan, the president of the Montreuillais judo-club was at the helm of the courses this Tuesday evening, the day of the resumption of the season. The opportunity to welcome a brand new trainer, Denis Rinck, 6th dan black belt, but also physical education and sports teacher (EPS), vice president of the Pays-de-la-Loire judo league, BPJEPS trainer , international referee who also trains the Belle-Beille Angers and Beaucouzé clubs.

For the start of the school year, the judo-club has seven coaches for the different categories, two state certificates and five volunteers who will teach the 85 license holders judo, ju-jitsu and taïso (adapted maintenance and physical activity). “ The tatami mats are occupied every day of the week, except Monday for licensees aged 4 to 71 ”, explains Alain Méritan. “What matters most to us is to have a full season with established appointments, courses, competitions, belt passage and interclub. ” The president also returns to the impact of the health crisis on his club: “Since March 2020, we have been deprived and frustrated. We were the first sport to go out of business and we are the last to resume. So yes, today we are full of envy. We resume with undisguised pleasure, despite the health rules in force and the protocol to be respected. ”

He also points to the problem of not “Not be able to intervene in schools which are still at level 2”, and “Hope the rules will ease”. Alain Méritan leaves the door open for registrations until the end of the month.
