Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson received a three-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for contacting referee Tim Timmons in the game against the Detroit Tigers in the start of the ninth round, Monday.

Anderson’s suspension was scheduled to begin tonight when the White Sox host the Cincinnati Reds. Anderson, however, chose to appeal. Thus, the discipline will be suspended until the process is completed.
