In the attack department, ManUnited is currently excessively staffed. The departure of Daniel James is the consequence.

Welsh international Daniel James is moving from Manchester United to Premier League rivals Leeds United. There he will sign a five-year contract until 2026, as Leeds officially announced on Tuesday evening.

The transfer fee for James, whose contract in Manchester runs until 2024, is around 28 million euros. In 2019 he moved from Swansea City to Old Trafford for around ten million euros less. Since then, James has not earned a regular place, but still made 79 appearances in which he delivered nine goals and nine assists.

After the transfer period, which is now ending, it would have been even more difficult for James to assert himself. Finally, ManUnited signed Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for a lot of money in his position and with superstar Cristiano Ronaldo there is another alternative for the already well-filled offensive.

There have been enough people interested in James in the past few weeks. In addition to his new club Leeds, Everton FC, Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion were also allegedly keen on the 23-year-old.
