  • Man of the Match: Gianluigi Donnarumma did not disappoint coach Pochettino’s confidence today and held PSG straight several times when the need was greatest. The Italian’s saves were not always orthodox, but very effective.
  • Striking (1): After 4 games, Lionel Messi has finally managed to break the spell at his new club. For the Argentinian it is immediately his 121st goal in the Champions League.
  • Striking (2): In the final phase of the match, Manchester City gets a free kick in a dangerous place. Behind the wall of the home team, Lionel Messi actually lays down on the ground. Something we would never have seen him do at Barcelona.

Manchester City had to loosen their grip and got more and more problems with PSG’s risky football. The Parisians took over possession, but after half an hour the equalizing goal seemed to be a fact.

After a sublime cross from De Bruyne, Donnarumma first showed off with a fantastic parade on Sterling. The ball then fell right in front of Bernardo Silva’s foot, but the Portuguese shot the 1-1 incomprehensibly against the bar.

The visitors once again took full control of the game, but both De Bruyne and Ruben Dias couldn’t get past a strong Donnarumma. City went into halftime with a deficit. Although it should be especially happy that De Bruyne

was spared from red after a strong tackle on Gueye’s leg.

Even after the break, the Citizens pulled the sheet to themselves. After a smart run, De Bruyne hit Donnarumma’s shin, after which Mahrez aimed too centrally not much later.

PSG did not get a foothold and failed to put together a dangerous counterattack. The home team headed for an inevitable goal, until one Lionel Messi stood up fifteen minutes before the end.

The Argentinian made good use of the space he was given and received the ball back from Mbappé on the edge of the sixteen after a nice one-two. The number 30 did not hesitate and left Ederson without a chance with a wonderful hit. Immediately his first in PSG employment.
