Something very alarming happened in the practice of the Dallas Cowboys.

According to some reports, Cowboys defensive line coach Leon Lett had to be removed from practice due to an alleged injury to his right leg, the severity of which is still unknown. Due to the injury, Lett needs to use crutches.

Cowboys assistant defensive line coach Leon Lett left practice today with a suspected right knee injury. He was tested on a wheelbarrow and then given crutches. It continues to be evaluated ”, tweeted Michael Gehlken, del Dallas Morning News.

“Assistant defensive line coach Leon Lett left practice Wednesday with a suspected right knee injury and had to use crutches to leave the field of play. There is no official information about how Lett got injured during morning practice ”, wrote Jonny Auping of the Cowboys website.

Lett, 52, has worked for Dallas as an assistant since 2011. The former defensive tackle won three Super Bowls and was named to two Pro-Bowls during ten seasons with the Cowboys from 1991-2000.

Wilson, Wright no entrenaron

Ahead of Wednesday’s week two practice against the Chargers, Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy revealed that safety Donovan Wilson and rookie cornerback Nahshon Wright would not be participating. Wilson suffered a groin injury in summer training that still persists, while Wright had to take care of something personal.

“He is not recovered [de la lesion] as we thought or hoped, so we are doing the right thing for him, ”McCarthy said of Wilson, according to the official team site. “He played a lot of minutes in last Thursday’s game.”

Wilson, who started alongside Damotae Kazee, played 55 plays in Dallas’ losing debut against Tampa Bay. With practice team safety Darian Thompson on the short-term disabled list (twins), the door has been opened for Malik Hooker, signed as a free agent and inactive for the first week. Team Vice President Stephen Jones said Tuesday that Hooker “surely”Will be available to play against Los Angeles.

If not, “that could mean rookie Israel Mukuamu could have a chance to make his NFL debut this week, especially if Wilson can’t play,” Auping said.

Won’t Gregory play?

It appears the Cowboys are eager for the return of defender Randy Gregory, who recently tested positive for coronavirus and was placed on the reserve / COVID-19 list on Monday. Vaccinated and asymptomatic, Gregory must have two consecutive negative tests, 24 hours apart, in order to get off the COVID list.

“Ten days have passed, and if you look at the history, and so it has been with all those who have had to abide by the COVID protocol. We’ll see how it goes, ”McCarthy said Wednesday, according to the official team site.

Gregory posted a tackle and fumble recovered in 37 plays against the Buccaneers. Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Tuesday that he hopes the defender will be cleared to play before the next game.

“He’s doing his best that he has the best chance of the test being negative,” Jones said in 105.3 The Fan. “We will continue testing it within the protocol. You have to cross your fingers and wait for it to pass quickly. I don’t think he has serious symptoms.
