Get ready to add another show to your holiday lineup. The first trailer for “Hawkeye” was released on September 13th and it will be the holiday event of the season!

Who knew Marvel was ready to get into the holiday spirit? Well it goes with Hawk Eye. Clint Barton, played by Remy Renner, is ready to make up for lost time with his children after the blip. However, his plans are hijacked when a masked vigilante returns to New York. “The past has caught up with me,” Clint says in the first trailer for Hawk Eye.

Clint knows he needs to mind some business and assures his children that he will be home for Christmas. When he goes in search of this masked vigilante, he meets Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld. “Some people have called me the greatest archer in the world,” Kate tells Clint when he asks who she is.

Things quickly get out of hand, and Clint must team up with Kate to take down common enemies. The trailer also features a quick look at Vera Farmiga, who plays Kate’s mom Eleanor Bishop, a Steve Rogers musical and great archery action from Clint and Kate.

Hawk Eye takes place in post-blip New York City. The official synopsis reads: “Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: to return to his family for Christmas. Possible? Perhaps with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer who dreams of becoming a Super hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the party spirit.

Hawk Eye is Kate Bishop’s entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kate first appeared in Marvel Comics in 2005 and quickly became a fan favorite. She takes inspiration from Hawkeye with her archery skills and is highly skilled in other forms of combat as well. It’s unclear what her future will be in the MCU beyond Hawkeye, but we’ll likely see her again in future TV shows or movies.
