Selon Adam Shefter d’ESPN, the NFL told wide receiver Josh Gordon, suspended since December 2020, that he was reinstated in the league.

Gordon should therefore be eligible for a return to the game as early as the fourth week of NFL activities.

“We are grateful that the NFL appreciates Josh’s work and that he deserved the opportunity to be in this league,” commented Gordon’s new agent Zac Hiller. We’re proud of Josh and know fans can’t wait to see him in action on Sundays. “

Gordon, 30, had a resounding NFL debut in 2012 and 2013 before being repeatedly suspended by the league for drinking issues.

In December 2019, Gordon was suspended for the fifth time by the NFL while wearing the Seattle Seahawks uniform.

He signed a new deal with the Seahawks for the following season and was conditionally reinstated by the NFL in December. Before he even had the chance to play a single game in 2020, however, he was suspended indefinitely for violating the terms of his conditional reinstatement.

Gordon led the league with 1,646 receiving in addition to scoring nine touchdowns in his second season with the Cleveland Browns in 2013. He has since played just 33 games in the NFL.
