Ivanova qualifies for a cash prize of up to 5,123 euros for silver in ECC weightlifting for juniors – Other sports

Ivanova’s coaches and service staff can apply for a cash prize of up to 2,561 euros.

The cash prize is applied in accordance with the regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers on the procedure for awarding cash prizes for outstanding achievements in sport and the amount of cash prizes /

The association “Latvian Weightlifting Federation” MES must submit an application for the award of cash prizes.

At the end of this year, these applications, together with applications from other federations, will be submitted to the Latvian National Sports Council for evaluation, and the council’s proposals for awarding cash prizes will be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for consideration. The exact amounts of cash prizes will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers upon the recommendation of the Council.

Latvian weightlifter Daniela Ivanova won a silver medal at the European Junior Championship in Rovaniemi on Tuesday.

Ivanova, starting in the weight category up to 71 kilograms, lifted 201 kilograms in total.

She was unable to pull the first attempt with an 84 kg barbell, but on the second walk she lifted the weight. In the third attempt, the Latvian athlete performed an attempt with an 87-kilogram barbell, which was successful. In this discipline, she was only in sixth place, but the convincing best result – 103 kilograms – was shown by Russian athlete Yevgeny Gusev.

In pushing, the Latvian had all the reported weights – 109, 113 and 114 kilograms. The last approach gave her a convincing second place behind Guseva, who lifted 127 kilograms overhead.

Guseva received 230 kilograms and a gold medal, Ivanova 201 kilograms and silver, but Aino Luostarinen, a Finn, lifted less than a kilogram.

Ilze Ojere also started in this weight category in group A, who, including four participants of group B, won 11th place in both disciplines, as well as in the amount where she lifted 171 kilograms (78 + 93).

Latvia will also be represented in the European Junior Championship and U-23 age group by Artūrs Vasilonoks, Iļja Sokolovs, Ēriks Sakovičs, Armands Mežinskis and Jevgēņijs Haustovs.
