In basketball, Mexico Sub 15 obtains gold in Belgrade

The national basketball team closed with a flourish his participation in the U-15 World School Games, by prevailing in the final of the discipline (69-52) against Serbia, a result with which they were proclaimed champion, for the first time in that contest.

With this result, Mexico closed its participation in Belgrade, Serbia, with 16 medals produced by four golds, eight silver and four bronzes, among the disciplines of athletics, taekwondo and basketball.

As action got underway on the court, the host team achieved a 12-6 lead; Nevertheless, Mexico he reacted in the second quarter and turned the score around 17-16. From that moment, the Aztec team took over the game and went to the front of the board to go to rest with a 37-24 advantage.

For the third quarter, Mexico continued to dominate the match and closed with a score of 56-42, but in the last minutes of the game, Serbia managed to get closer to 52-56, but in their eagerness to stop the tricolor offensive, they committed a series of fouls , which were used by the nationals to increase the advantage of 69-52 and seal the victory.

In his participation, the squad that leads Adolfo Placencia Figueroa and Gerardo Rochín left on the road to Macedonia, 72-47; Serbia, 71-37 and France, 69-52, so they reached the final undefeated.

The World Cup fair brought together 2,500 participants from 35 countries, who saw action in 14 disciplines.
