Hidalgo judocas go to the championship

Judo from Hidalgo will not have a large number of representatives in the Daniel F. Hernández National Championship, which will be held next week in Oaxtepec, Morelos.

According to the leader of the Association of Judocas Hidalguenses, Verónica González Pastén, in children’s and youth categories there would only be the presence of five athletes.

Despite the above, the trainer pointed out that the appointment is fundamental, since from there the winners will qualify for the Pan American Children’s Championship of the discipline, which will take place in the Dominican Republic on November 13 and 14.

He indicated that it will be on October 7 when they move to Morelos, in addition to the presence of athletes in the Master division in the delegation.

González Pastén pointed out that it is in this modality that Hidalgo has the greatest number of judocas, since Daniel F. Hernández is a special competition for these categories.

“We have four master athletes for that competition, because that is the strongest tournament for them. There are other special tournaments for these categories, but the one with the highest level is F. Hernández ”, he explained.

This is the first competition for Hidalgo judokas after their performance at the Conade National Games, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, an event in which they became the discipline with the highest number of medals from the state delegation, with 16 medals.

In 2019, during one of Hidalgo’s last participations in the contest, the entity went to Querétaro with more than 50 athletes.

On that occasion, there were 15 medals that were harvested, of which four were gold, the same number of silver and seven bronze metals.
