Pep Guardiola has reacted with lightning speed to the rumor of the Spanish Diario SPORT that Ansu Fati allegedly offered by his agent Jorge Mendes to Manchester City. Guardiola believes Mendes broke the news to raise more money for his client.
Fati, Mendes in FC Barcelona are in talks about a new contract, but the Portuguese agent wants to get the most out of the talks. By offering Fati at Manchester City, Mendes hopes for a faster agreement with Barça, says SPORT. This while several Barcelona players have surrendered their salary in solidarity with the club.
Mendes is said to have offered Fati to several clubs, but only City’s name leaked out. The current contract of the talent will continue until the summer of 2022. Due to a serious knee injury, Fati did not play for Ronald Koeman’s team from November 7, 2020.
