Giannis Antetokounmpo wants to be in Milan: ‘I’m looking forward to Eurobasket 2022’

There is good news and bad news for Italian basketball fans. The good is that in a year we will be able to admire Giannis Antetokounmpo on the pitch in a competitive context in Italy, more precisely in Milan; the bad is that will play against the blues, making Greece a much more difficult opponent to overcome in the Group C of Eurobasket 2022. The recent MVP of the Finals has in fact made it clear on Twitter that he wants to participate in the next continental competition: “I take it all day by day“he said putting his hands forward,”but I can’t wait to be there!“. Antetokounmpo was unable to participate in the pre-Olympic tournament with his national team due to playoff commitments with the Milwaukee Bucks, but the dates of Eurobasket 2022 – which will take place from 2 September and will be broadcast exclusively on Sky Sport channels – they should allow him to follow all the preparation and to be there for the event, injuries permitting. Greece (match scheduled for 3 September) will be one of Italy’s five opponents along with Estonia (September 2), Ukraine (September 5), Croatia (September 6) and Great Britain (September 8), with the matches that will take place at the Assago Forum just outside Milan. The final phase – which only the top two teams from each of the four groups will access, with the others taking place in Prague, Tbilisi and Cologne – is instead scheduled in Berlin from 10 to 18 September. Everything to follow obviously on Sky Sport.
