As of this season, football fans need four (!) Subscriptions (Sky, DAZN, Amazon Prime, TVNOW) to watch Bundesliga, 2nd division, Champions League and Europa League games.
Five years ago, with Sky, the fan only needed one.

On Thursday, the game Eintracht Frankfurt against Fenerbahce Istanbul (1: 1) in the Europa League was only shown online for a fee in the stream on TVNOW (RTL streaming service).
If you wanted to see it live, you had to take out a subscription (4.99 per month) for the TVNOW streaming service. The Frankfurters were the quota guarantee for RTL Nitro in the Europa League last season …
On free TV on RTL Nitro instead: Union against Slavia Prague (1: 3) in the Uefa Conference League. That makes a lot of fans angry. And they let their displeasure run wild.
A Frankfurt fan wrote on Twitter: “Eintracht Frankfurt is playing against Fenerbahce Istanbul and you only show it for a fee. Shame on you (shame on you) RTL! “
But why did broadcaster RTL only show the Frankfurt game on the TVNOW streaming service and not on free TV?
An RTL spokesman for BILD: “TVNOW is the new home of the European Cup on RTL Germany. At the same time, on match days we will continue to present a top game with German participation on free TV on RTL or Nitro and try to ‘turn around’ here as best as possible. “

But are the four subscriptions also more expensive than in 2016? At that time, the pay TV broadcaster Sky exclusively had all games in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga, Champions League and Europa League.
So if you wanted to see all the games in 2016, you only had to take out a subscription with Sky. Cost at that time: around 50.99 euros per month for all games. If you wanted to see it in HD, you had to add another 10.50 euros.
However, at that time you could also watch an additional 18 games of the champions live on the public broadcasters ARD and ZDF.

Sky: Bundesliga (except Friday and Sunday games) and DFB Cup: 30.00 euros (10.00 for HD)
DAZN: Bundesliga (Friday and Sunday games), Champions League, Europa League: 14.99 euros
