Bayern even dominated the sayings of the year

Three players from Bayern Munich have been nominated by the German Academy for Football Culture. In the opinion of the jury, you gave a particularly award-winning saying for the best. A total of eleven quotations are nominated.
Dhe freestyle for the best soccer saying of the year usually falls into the category of good entertainment. In the past it was about topics like bedsores, that left is similar to right, only on the other side, tail length or mid-thirties in the disco. Last year, a somewhat more difficult topic won. The former HSV coach Daniel Thioune delivered it according to the German Academy for Football Culture, which is about it.
Thiounes counterattack was worthy of a prize when clubs objected to the valuation of the games against HSV because the Hamburg Bakery Jatta had called out. Jatta fled to Germany in 2015, there was a lot of fuss about his identity and thus his eligibility to play. “If you don’t manage to score against HSV, you shouldn’t try to get an advantage on the back of a refugee who hasn’t done anything to anyone, but should look better at your own sporting mistakes,” Thioune had said – and with it Soccer saying of the year 2020 delivered.
Now three players from FC Bayern in Leon Goretzka, Julian Nagelsmann and Niklas Süle have been nominated for the award of the year 2021. National player Goretzka is the only one in the preselection of eleven slogans put together by an eleven-person jury of experts with two quotes – including: “It’s nice to have 82 million national coaches again and not 82 million virologists.”
In addition to the Bayern professionals, the Bundesliga coaches Steffen Baumgart (1. FC Cologne) and Christian Streich (SC Freiburg) are preselected with sayings. HSV legend Horst Hrubesch and ex-referee Manuel Gräfe also made it into the top eleven. Dortmund’s sports director Michael Zorc, St. Pauli trainer Timo Schultz and journalist Klaas Reese complete the field.
Up to and including September 22nd, online voting at fussball-kultur.org can be used. The result then decides 70 percent of the final placements – 30 percent of the jury, which includes ZDF presenter Katrin Müller-Hohenstein and musician Thees Uhlmann, is included. The prize, which has been awarded since 2006, is endowed with 5000 euros, which is donated to a charitable cause.
