To have for a lot of money: FIFA

We have almost got used to the fact that Zurich, the seat of FIFA, keeps coming up with ideas that football fans can only shake their heads about. A particularly beautiful example of galloping madness is the current FIFA proposal to hold the football World Cup every two years in the future. Organizationally, it is certainly child’s play, considering all the national championship and cup games, the Champions League and other qualifying games in international competitions, not to mention the European championship, which also has to be organized. In addition, FIFA can hardly find any “democratic countries” in which major championships can take place. It is well known that organizers are more and more often from a “democratic point of view” “dubious countries” or amalgamations of several nations in order to be able to cope with the organizational and financial effort that a World Cup entails.

But of course, it’s about money, nothing else. The officials of FIFA cannot get their necks full. The WM money printing machine in its previous form is apparently no longer sufficient. And it remains up to us football fans to call on UEFA and the individual associations to oppose this development. Without the consent of continental and national associations, FIFA has no chance. It would therefore be more than appropriate if the DFB would turn away from its search for president for a moment in order to show a clear edge against the nonsense of FIFA. A clear statement by the DFB could also help to narrow the gap between the DFB and fans.

Apropos »digging«: The project of a World Cup every two years should be buried as soon as possible. Something like that can only have come up with officials who have never wore gym shorts in their life.

“Sport free!” From the fan lawyer.
