Dylan Groenewegen felt very bad for four weeks: “Was he lying…

Dylan Groenewegen is satisfied with his second place in the Championship of Flanders. He narrowly lost in the sprint to Jasper Philipsen, but is happy that he had good legs again after feeling ill in recent weeks: “I had a splitting headache for four weeks.”

After the Championship of Flanders, Groenewegen was relieved to be able to sprint again for the win. “I have felt very tired and weak in recent weeks,” said the Dutchman. “I suffered from severe headaches for four weeks. I don’t know if it was the vaccine or not, but luckily it’s better now.”

“Of course I would have preferred to win,” the Dutchman continued. “It was a nice sprint. Philipsen started early and in the end I just came up short. Congratulations to Jasper.” Groenewegen will be driving again on Sunday. “In Frankfurt there is another chance that it will turn out to be a sprint. The legs are good, so hopefully I can compete there again for the win. Then I ride Roubaix and Paris-Tours. Hopefully after those races I can go into the winter with a good feeling.”
