- Atalanta Bergamo’s second Champions League group game was short-lived for Robin Gosens.
- The DFB star has been replaced in tears.
- Now it is questionable whether he can play for the DFB team in the coming week.
For Robin Gosens, the second matchday in the Champions League ended early. After just ten minutes, the 27-year-old left the field in tears in Atalanta Bergamo’s 1-0 win against Young Boys Bern.
The German international injured himself without any outside influence – apparently on his right thigh. There is no diagnosis yet.
Bergamo wins without Gosens – DFB star questionable in international matches
Without their left-back, the Italians had a long hard time in Group F against the Swiss champions, who caused a stir with a 2-1 win against Manchester United – until Matteo Pessina scored in the 68th minute of the game.
Now it is questionable whether Gosens can be nominated in the World Cup qualification against Romania (October 8th) and North Macedonia (October 11th). National coach Hansi Flick wants to announce his squad on Friday. (afp / dpa / msc)
