De Bruyne downgrades Manchester City hierarchy

Returning from injury, Kevin De Bruyne was finally able to regain the joys of the field during the reception of Leipzig in the Champions League. Holder in the middle of the game, a detail has however surprised some Internet users on the fact that in the absence of Fernandinho, it is not he who wears the armband but indeed Ruben Dias. Last season again, the Devil was the vice-captain of the Citizens behind the Brazilian when the latter was injured or confined to the bench.

But the hierarchy in the captaincy has changed in Manchester City. The Mail Online reveals that players have voted for their various captains this season and De Bruyne only came in fourth. In front of him, it is always Fernandinho who is the number one captain of Guardiola’s team, ahead of Ilkay Gündogan and the Portuguese Ruben Dias.

A choice that does not seem to have disturbed De Bruyne too much in view of his performance against Leipzig on Wednesday.
