Davante Adams: Loss against the Saints was a wake-up call

Despite being one of the favorites to win Super Bowl LVI, the Packers started the year getting beaten up by the Saints by score of 38-3. After the surprise defeat, Green Bay is keen to reverse the bad start to the season.

At press conference Davante Adams assured that the Packers did not properly execute the game plan and the disaster in the TIAA Bank Field, New Orleans makeshift house, will awaken the club from the lethargy in which they live.

“It was weird, it was a weird game. We had 12 plays in the first half. Our defense didn’t come off the field and that’s not our strength. We looked bad and I think that’s a good wake-up call for us “, explained the 28-year-old wide receiver.

At the group level, the Packers’ offense was inoperative, generating 229 total yards (186 by air, 43 by ground) and deliver the ball three times. In Adams’ case, the Freno State product had five receptions for 56 yards.

Also, defensively Green Bay didn’t offer much either. Tolerated 322 total yards (151 by air, 171 by land), five touchdown passes and failed to capture Jameis Winston.

Misleading encounter

The Packers’ next commitment is the Lions, who are coming off a 41-33 loss to the 49ers. Although, on paper, the encounter seems straightforward for Green Bay, the numbers dictate a more even encounter than expected.

In the five recent campaigns, Packers are 6-4 against Detroit; however, in that span, the Lions had a streak of four consecutive victories.
