The first set was disastrous on the part of the home team and he clearly lost it in 19 minutes. The Bulgarians did what they wanted on the field, they were clearly better in all activities. The score got very scary very quickly, because the Czech income broke its teeth at the hard service of Sokolov and Atanasov, whether Moník was in charge of it as a libero or any of his teammates.

Thanks to three aces, the Bulgarians quickly led 13: 3 and the home team’s shortage grew desperately, because the record was not even properly released, which led to a quick replacement of Janouch. The alternation of universals didn’t help either, Finger didn’t get off the bench in this position. In the end, the Czech players managed to get only ten points in the opening act, when the success of their offensive actions dropped to 27 percent.

The awakening of coach Novák’s charges came only after the change of sides, when the substitute recorder Bartůněk boldly began to encourage him to finish in better positions. The Czech defense in the field also improved and suddenly the players were played perfectly evenly to the satisfaction of the spectators. It was quite clear how the confidence of the representatives returned. Smashers Vašina and Galabov in particular began to afford a lot.

When the home team even got a few risky services and tactical alleys on the net, the still sovereign opponent was nervous, he made mistakes in defense and suddenly it was 21:19. The second set ended in a very dramatic ending. Although there was no clear point attack by Hadrava, Vašina and Sedláček built a model block twice on the net and the Czechs eventually used the second set.

The national team expelled from the audience in the hall suddenly sailed on a big wave. He played absolutely selflessly, managed to beat the Bulgarian blocks, and with Vašin’s great presentation he built up a promising seven-point lead to the finish of the third set (22:15). The turbulent opponent had a big problem with his income from the turn, and he walled up the service five times. The utilized Czech set number two was then confirmed by the auditorium and the coach challenge with stormy cheers.

The mental strength of the Czech team was increased by every fought ball. Both blockers Sedláček and Zajíček did a great job on the net, they were not afraid to attack in the middle. The Bulgarians, with the continuing unfavorable development, looked for shortcomings everywhere but at home, often discussing with the referee and their Italian coach Prandi looked very bitter.

The lead of the home team in the fourth set of 23:19 was promising, because Bartůněk found a varied way to record for the final shot. Unfortunately, Skrimov got behind the back line and it was devastating for the Czechia, because he got a point three times directly from the service. Immediately, the Bulgarians also averted the match and played the final exchanges of the fourth tactically well, despite the infallibly ending Atanasov.

The winner had to be determined by a tie break, in which the Bulgarian team already clearly showed its qualities. His ranchers pushed through and made no mistake in the field that Czech players could take advantage of.
